Megan Agena, an alumna of the University of New Mexico, earned a Bachelors degree in biology before embarking on a fulfilling career as a zookeeper at the Albuquerque BioPark Zoo. Amidst the array of primate species under her care, her passion for the Golden Lion Tamarins shines brightly.

She is currently continuing her education at Washington State University, pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She maintains an interest in research and conservation programs that can aid the wild counterparts of the animals in her daily care. This profound interest inspired her collaboration with SGLT, driven by a heartfelt commitment to bolster the waning populations of this remarkable species.
